This drawing was part of a small solo exhibition called “Me After Us” where I experimented with different materials to draw different emotions and troubles I was having after the failure of a 6 year relationship.
“Picket Fences” is about the inner turmoil that’s often hidden behind closed doors and the struggle within a strong relationship that isn’t visible to everyone else. When we broke up, that turmoil reached it’s boiling point and many were surprised by our split.
