Our Missoula Public Library was designed and constructed with Montana natural elements in mind. It combines a modern, elegant space, with natural motifs and organic shapes that bring nature and environmental issues to the table. Searching for knowledge and creativity in this space would be difficult without acknowledging and admiring the beauty of our river, meadows, mountains, and sky.

This acrylic painting depicts a smoky sunrise over Mount Sentinel far before settlers arrived. Through the center runs the first city maps of Missoula now bound in a book on display in the Library. The waves are reflected in the Library windows that bend to the greenery behind giving it a contemporary, surreal feel.
